Train-the-Trainer
for Speak To Influence The
Speak to Influence "train-the-trainer"
is a 3-step three-day program taught by a qualified facilitator from The Great
Voice Company. First, trainers go through the entire day-and a-half long workshop
as if they were participants. Then, they read through the entire facilitator guide
as a group and ask and receive answers to questions about the facilitation of
each module. Finally each trainer is assigned a section of the workshop for a
"teach-back" to a small group on which they will receive feedback. They
then develop an implementation plan for rolling out the workshop company-wide. Day
1 and Day 2: The trainers experience the entire 1.5 day workshop as "regular"
participants. Each
trainer will be provided with the Participant Workbook. They mark places in the
participant materials where they might have questions regarding the facilitation
required. Day
2 and Day 3: The trainers read through the entire Facilitator Guide as a group
and then ask questions about how to facilitate each module. Each
trainer will be provided with his own Facilitator Guide and a full set of overheads.
Selected video segments will be viewed again and there will be a discussion about
how to debrief them. Trainers will learn what questions to expect from participants
and how to answer them appropriately. They will also learn how to manage and navigate
around "hot issues" that are going on within the company. Day
3: Each trainer will each be assigned a section of the workshop for a "teach-back"
to a small group on which they will receive feedback. Then they develop an implementation
plan for rolling out the workshop company-wide. Each
trainer will be assigned a certain portion of the workshop that he/she will prepare.
Each trainer will facilitate a short segment of the workshop as if he/she were
really teaching it. Members of the group will provide written, constructive feedback
to each presenter using the guided feedback form to be provided. The facilitator
will also provide suggestions regarding the individual's facilitation skills.
Upon the conclusion of the session, the trainers will (collectively or individually
depending upon the company needs) develop an implementation plan using a template
provided.
